Five33 is one of the most respected names in FPV racing worldwide, and the MidMount is arguably their most innovative design. Built in the United States by a team that designs, tests, and flies every frame in-house, the MidMount isn't just another 5" frame — it's an engineering solution to a problem that went unsolved for years.
The problem: mid-mounting a battery has always been desirable in theory — better center of gravity, less pendulum effect, more direct flight feel — but in practice it was a real risk. Any crash could cause the battery to slide into the propellers and get destroyed. Five33 solved this with their TPU Battery Keepers, which lock the battery in position through even the hardest impacts. With that problem solved, the MidMount frame could finally exist.
The result is a frame that flies differently from anything you've flown before. With the battery mounted at the center of the quad — right at the propeller line — the center of gravity sits in the optimal position. This reduces motor workload across all flight maneuvers, eliminates the pendulum effect of an underslung battery, and produces noticeably cleaner Blackbox logs. If you fly racing and pay attention to flight data, the difference is immediate and undeniable.
The central structure is built around Five33's LightSwitch V2 midsection, with longitudinal vertical carbon stiffeners that keep the body completely rigid without needing a top plate or arches. Fewer parts, less weight, more stiffness. The outer pod is 3D printed nylon, with clean lines and full customizability — all 3D files are available online so you can print your own variants and tailor the build exactly to your needs.
The arms are 6mm T700 carbon fiber, among the thickest available on any 5" racing frame, giving them exceptional durability for hard racing conditions. Five33 includes 5 arms in the spare kit — because they know arms break in racing, and you don't want to be sitting on the bench waiting for parts when everyone else is flying.
Stack mounts at 20x20, the camera slot fits nano format at 14mm, and the design is sized for batteries up to 1550mAh 6S.
